Dr Haji, 78, died in Calicut from health complications

Dr PA Ibrahim Haji, a renowned Indian businessman based in Dubai, philanthropist and head of several educational institutions in the United Arab Emirates, died on Tuesday, December 21.
He was 78 years old and resided in the UAE for 55 years.
Community and business sources confirmed that he died of health complications around 10:15 a.m. Indian time at MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode.
He was transported to Indian in a Dubai air ambulance late Monday evening (December 20) after suffering a stroke on the morning of December 11. The air ambulance took off from Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.
“Dr Haji left Dubai on Monday evening in very serious condition for further treatment at MIMS Kozhikode. His wish was to rest in India, ”said sources close to the community.
Dr Haji’s remains will be kept at his Kozhikode residence until 4 p.m. Indian time for family and close friends to pay tribute to him. The funeral will be at 6:00 p.m. (IST) in Manjeri, Malappuram district, Kerala.
Dr Haji, born in Kerala, was co-chair of the Malabar Group and chair of the PACE Education Group.
He is the founder and vice president of Indus Motor Company and co-president and key investor of Malabar Gold. He also owns and manages several businesses.
