U.S. Mayors Join Bitcoin Paycheck Challenge – Who’s Next?

Two other American mayors throw their hats in the ring and agree to receive part of their salary in Bitcoin (BTC).
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said she would follow in the footsteps of Miami Mayor Francisco Suarez and New York Mayor-elect Eric Adams, noting that she was “up to the challenge” of accepting a check from pays in BTC.
Castor added that she responded to the challenge late because her city was busy preparing to host the Florida Bitcoin and Blockchain Summit.
Suarez quickly backed up his words and tried to convince Steve Adler and Lenny Curry, mayors of Austin and Jacksonville, respectively, to take up the challenge.
Let’s go !!!!!! What would you say @MayorAdler???? Take a paycheck or two in Bitcoin ??? What about @lennycurry???

Meanwhile, Scott Conger, the mayor of Jackson, Tennessee, said that although state law prohibits him from being paid in Bitcoin, he will “instantly convert” his next paycheck to BTC.
Suarez, however, noted that he might have a workaround that could allow Conger to receive a Bitcoin payment.

The mayor of Miami enlisted the help of Mike Sarasti, the city’s innovation and technology director for the city of South Florida, to organize his own BTC payment.
Sarasti says he has already received part of his last salary in Bitcoin and is ready to organize it for Suarez.
Already sent @ln_strike link to register. My experience of receiving part of my salary last week went perfectly. And the Mayor is already scaling my “pilot” to ð¯ allocation. The boss moves.

Popular Bitcoin investor Anthony Pompliano kicked off on Tuesday when he asked Twitter which American politician would be the first to accept a Bitcoin paycheck.
Suarez was the first to respond, promising to take 100% of their next check in BTC.
Then, Thursday, Adams from New York one-up Suarez, promising on Twitter to take his first three Bitcoin checks.
Miami mayor applauded the Adams movement and predicted even more mayors will follow.
