Two men have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a KwaZulu-Natal businessman.

His wife sounded the alarm when he failed to arrive home by 10.30 p.m., police spokesman Lt. Col. Nqobile Gwala said.

Later, officers were informed that he had managed to escape.
He found his way to the police station at Taylors Halt.
The man told them he was being held captive in a house in KwaDindi.

It is alleged that they stole money from company premises and used the businessman’s credit card to withdraw cash while he was detained, Gwala added.
They are scheduled to appear in Pinetown Magistrates Court on Tuesday for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, kidnapping and extortion.
