Scottish businessman caught in ‘gravest’ category of jailed child abuse images

A boss of a training company was jailed today after being caught with the “most serious” category of child pornography.
Raymond Coney, 69, admitted to uploading photos of child abuse to the dark web using the Tor browser, which is supposed to hide the identities of Internet users.
Falkirk Sheriff Court has learned that police armed with a search warrant raided Coney’s home in Buchlyvie, West Stirlingshire, last August (2020), acting on the information received.
The court heard that more than 40 images of child abuse categorized as A – the most serious type of child pornography – had been found on her computer and mobile phone, along with nearly 70 photos in Category B and C.

Coney pleaded guilty to downloading child pornography from his home, Claymires Cottage, Buchlyvie, over a period of more than two and a half years, between January 2018 and August 3 of last year (2020) when the raid took place.
Coney is listed by Companies House as having at the time been a director of education company Training Academy.UK Ltd, which was voluntarily dissolved on May 11 of this year (2021).
Sheriff Craig Harris jailed Coney for seven months and put him on the sex offender registry for 10 years.
