Ahmedabad: A 45-year-old doctor, working at VS Hospital in the Ellisbridge area, filed a complaint against her husband on Thursday for injuries and intimidation. The complaint stated that her husband attempted to kill himself by using sedatives after beating and threatening her.
The woman, in her FIR with Paldi Police, said she married a businessman, who owns a nut and bolt manufacturing unit in Rakhial, in 1999. The eldest son couple is a 20-year-old second-year MBBS student. the youngest is 17 years old. The woman said in her complaint that her husband argued with her on November 29 over a business issue involving her uncle. Later, he started to abuse her and also slapped her in the face.
The woman then called the police control room but due to the intervention of members of her family, she did not file a complaint with the police against her husband. The woman then moved to her sister’s in Bopal.
On Wednesday evening, her husband called on her to be reconciled. The woman went to meet her with her brother-in-law and her husband’s two friends.
As they started talking, her husband started to abuse her, twisted her arm and slapped her. He also threatened to kill himself by strangling or taking sedatives. Soon he was taking sedatives, the FIR said. The woman approached Paldi police and filed a complaint for assault and battery, criminal intimidation and abusive language against her husband.
