(Reuters) – Employees of JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE 🙂 in the United States will be required to wear masks in indoor public places and in the common areas of its offices, regardless of their immunization status, the bank said to staff in a note on Friday.

The resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the United States due to the Delta variant and new guidelines from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which require fully vaccinated people to wear masks, have led companies to change their vaccination plans. and masking.

“Since the CDC has stated that over 80% of counties in the United States have substantial or high community transmission rates, we will be following these guidelines nationwide for now,” JPMorgan said in the memo seen. by Reuters.

Only fully immunized employees are permitted to attend large indoor employee events with 25 or more people.

Unvaccinated staff will need to perform routine COVID-19 rapid testing at least twice a week, according to the note.

Many of Wall Street’s biggest banks are sticking to their decision to bring employees back to the office in the coming weeks, even as warnings from public health officials about Delta’s aggressive variant are causing some companies to rethink their plans.

JPMorgan has returned employees to the United States to the office on a rotational basis starting in July.

The bank did not indicate any work changes from office plans in the memo.
