Injured businessman, his wife unharmed in Zambo City shooting

CITY OF ZAMBOANGA – A businessman was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday, a police official revealed.
Lt. Raine Simyunn, a newly installed information officer at the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), identified the victim as Jacob Gregorio, 39, a businessman.
Gregorio’s wife, Irene, 32, who was with him during the incident was not injured.
Simyunn said the initial investigation showed the couple were shot dead by one of the two men riding a scooter-type motorcycle in tandem at around 9:20 a.m. Thursday in Sitio Mala, Barangay Bolong, that town.
At the time of the incident, Jacob was driving a car with his wife on the way to the actual town from Barangay Curuan here.
Simyunn said Jacob, who was shot in the left shoulder, was rushed to hospital for treatment as the suspects raced towards Barangay Curuan.
ZCPO Director Colonel Rexmel Reyes ordered ZCPO Station 3 to fully investigate the incident. (ANP)
