Governor of Alaska Thanks Trump for Conditional Approval | Alaska News

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has accepted conditional approval from former President Donald Trump for his 2022 re-election campaign, a campaign spokesperson said on Friday.
Trump told Dunleavy earlier this week that he would support him on condition that he does not back Republican U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski for re-election. Trump has vowed revenge on Murkowski and other Republican lawmakers who backed his impeachment following the Jan.6 uprising. He backed Murkowski’s main challenger, Kelly Tshibaka.
“Please say thank you to the president for the approval,” Dunleavy said in a post on the Trump Save America PAC website. âRegarding the other matter, please tell the President that he has nothing to fear. I appreciate all that 45 have done for Alaska and this country.
Andrew Jensen, spokesperson for Dunleavy’s re-election campaign, confirmed to the Anchorage Daily News that the message was sent by the governor.
âIt was a written message from the governor to the people of Trump,â Jensen told the Anchorage newspaper.

Jensen said he was unsure if the post was meant to be public.
âEven though it was supposed to be private, it still makes sense,â Jensen said.
