Governor Abbott serves meals to Operation Lone Star servicemen

He served in the military in Del Rio and Edinburgh during Thanksgiving
AUSTIN, Texas – On Wednesday, November 24, Governor Greg Abbott hosted and served meals to soldiers from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and members of the National Guard. Meals were served at the border over Thanksgiving for Operation Lone Star (OLS) in Del Rio and Edinburgh. Governor Abbott also stopped by Delia’s to pick up tamales ahead of his visit with the military to Edinburgh.
The following people joined Governor Abbott on Wednesday:
- Executive Director of the DPS Steve McCraw,
- Texas Military Department Major General Tracy Norris
- and Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Major-General Thomas Suelzer.
All four thanked the soldiers and military for their service and sacrifice in securing the south Texas border.
“We are very grateful for the sacrifice and commitment of our DPS soldiers and members of the Texas National Guard as they continue to secure our border,” Governor Abbott said. “I ask all Texans to join me in thanking the military and first responders stationed here in Texas and around the world this Thanksgiving, spending time with their families and loved ones to protect our communities and keep us safe. . “
