Georgia businessman drops $ 6 million dispute over Security Co. deal

By Morgan Conley (December 17, 2021, 4:50 p.m. EST) – A Georgian businessman who sued a failed $ 6 million deal agreed to drop the lawsuit less than two months after Georgia’s new business court ruled refused to allow an appeal of his continuing litigation order.

In a nonsuit on Thursday, Daren Hoeffner informed the court that he had decided to drop his lawsuits against Controlled Access Inc. and one of its owners, Peter Brookner, with each party agreeing to pay their own fees and attorney fees. The voluntary layoff is not due to any underlying settlement agreement, the lawyer for Controlled Access and Brookner told Law360 on Friday.
