Businessman who faked his own kidnapping has been located in Jaipur, police say

Ahmedabad police tracked down a 33-year-old businessman in Jaipur, Rajasthan, days after he disappeared from his residence in Naroda, Ahmedabad. Police said Ravi Pandya, a resident of Aashirvad Avenue in Nava Naroda, faked his kidnapping due to financial problems.
A team from the Ahmedabad Crime Detection Branch (DCB) located Pandya at a bus depot in Jaipur on Friday, four days after an FIR was registered for kidnapping at the Naroda police station in Ahmedabad.
According to police, Pandya made frequent trips to Tanzania in East Africa for business purposes from 2011 to 2020. However, her business suffered a severe loss due to the Covid pandemic. He took out a loan of Rs 2 lakh from his father to return to India in June 2021. After returning to India, he tried to work in a new company but was not satisfied with the low salary.
âOn December 27, he left his house claiming that he wanted a new SIM card. Pandya then took a luxury bus to Jodhpur in Rajasthan, then to Jaipur and Delhi. From Delhi he took a bus to Jammu; however, due to lack of money, he left for Jaipur in a bus from Jammu. Meanwhile, he texted his wife using his phone claiming he had been killed by someone. We found him at a bus stop in Jaipur and brought him back, âsaid a senior police official in Ahmedabad DCB.
