Biden ‘lied to the American people’ about his hunter’s emails
Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr on Monday accused President Biden of “lying to the American people” during a presidential debate when he called the Post’s exposure of the emails a his son Hunter Biden of “Russian plant”.
During appearance on Fox NewsBarr said, “I was very disturbed during the debate when candidate Biden lied to the American people about the laptop.”
“He’s squarely confronted with the laptop, and he suggested it was Russian disinformation and pointed to the letter written by intelligence people which was baseless – which he knew was a lie. “, Barr said.
“And I was shocked by that.”
Barr’s comments – who recently penned a revealing memoir, ‘One Damn Thing After Another,’ which criticizes former President Donald Trump – came after the New York Times last week said the emails he obtained had been authenticated by sources familiar with them and the Hunter Biden federal tax investigation.
The Times and other media previously disparaged The Post’s exclusive report on the emails, claiming the material had not been independently verified.
During the October 22, 2020, debateTrump suggested the emails showed Biden to be “a corrupt politician” and called his scandal-scarred son’s computer “the laptop from hell.”
Biden replied that “there are 50 former national intelligence agents who said what he’s accusing me of is a Russian factory.”
“They said it had all the hallmarks – four, five former CIA heads, both sides – say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”
Last week, only five of 51 former officials — including former National Security Director Jim Clapper — told the Post they were still standing on October 19, 2020, public statement who said the release of the emails had “all the classic hallmarks of a Russian information operation”.
Five others declined to comment, while 39 signatories did not respond and two could not be reached.
