The Anambra State government mourned a famous businessman, Alhaji Abdulaziz Chivuzor Ude, who recently passed away in Lagos State.
Ude, originally from Enugu State, is a famous culture enthusiast, publisher and businessman.
The Anambra State government in a statement by State Information and Public Information Commissioner MC Don Adinuba said that Ude, a philanthropist, will be missed.
Adinuba said: “The people and government of Anambra State received with sadness the news of the death two days ago of the leader Abdulaziz Chibuzor Ude, an internationally renowned publisher, intellectual and art lover.
“Ude is a Pan-Africanist, entrepreneur and philanthropist in Abor, Udi’s local government area in Enugu State, who has played an important role in modern Igbo history.
“He died in Lagos in the late 1980s and was buried in his hometown yesterday afternoon in accordance with the Islamic injunction,” the commissioner said in a statement.
He described Ude as a very humble man who practiced egalitarianism in truth and in spirit.
“He never discriminated against the less privileged or those who did not share his religious views. Even after converting to Islam, the result of his deep friendship with the Founding President of Guinea Sékou Touré, a full Pan-Africanist, Ude remained a great contributor to the well-being of priests and the church in his community. .
“The government and people of Anambra State truly mourn the transition of this great Igboman, Pan-Africanist, publisher and intellectual. We mourn with the Ude family of Abor and the people and government of Enugu State. May the noble soul of Abdulaziz Ude find rest in paradise.
